Schaap en Citroen Juweliers has been a household name in the luxury jewellery and watch industry for more than 135 years. They always strive for the highest quality and the best service. Mark, why is Schaap en Citroen the perfect store for luxury jewellery and watches?

"At Schaap en Citroen Juweliers we have an exclusive range of international watch and jewelry brands. This means that we are the reference jeweler in the Netherlands for many brands. In collaboration with the watch brands, we have opened a significant number of monobrand boutiques in recent years. In these boutiques, brand experiences for the customer are central and Schaap en Citroen sells exclusive 'boutique-only' models. In Rotterdam we are proud to have opened monobrand boutiques in 2022 in collaboration with IWC Schaffhausen and Breitling. We recently opened the Cartier Espace, next to Rolex on the Kruiskade, so that's another brand we added to this list."

How is the Schaap en Citroen range been curated?

"The brands develop and launch the products in-house, as a retailer we have limited influence on product development. Fortunately, we can express our preferences for which products we would like to sell. Opening monobrand boutiques also gives us access to a broader collection that allows us to really make a difference and offer the customer something unique. Cartier launches exclusive watches and boutique-only models every year, so these are now also available in Rotterdam."

The collaboration between Manhave and Schaap en Citroen continues. What do you like so much about this collaboration?

"At Schaap en Citroen Juweliers we always strive for sustainable relationships. We carefully choose our partners so that we can grow together and guarantee the best quality.

Manhave is an important player for us in Rotterdam. We both have an interest in the Kruiskade remaining a household name in Rotterdam. Manhave is experienced, fully understands luxury, we also think along with them and have confidence in their long-term vision. These are the reasons why we have extended our rental contracts for a longer period of time.

The Kruiskade has all the ingredients to grow into the absolute Luxury street of Rotterdam. There are great developments coming, Manhave is going to surprise everyone."

What makes the Kruiskade in Rotterdam such a great location to have a store?

"The Kruiskade has a unique location in Rotterdam: close to the centre, easily accessible, and of course the other retailers present in the street are a plus. We need each other to remain attractive as a street for the luxury shopper. The mutual relationships between retailers are good and that is essential for a good customer experience in the street.

In addition, we are happy with the developments around the Kruiskade, we see beautiful boutiques opening in the area around the street. Once the buildings have been renovated, we can be even more proud of this beautiful part of Rotterdam."
