Hi Bernadette and Hilde, who are you and what do you do?

Bernadette: “I am an urban planner, trained in Delft (TU) and have a fascination for the transformation of cities. As a designer and researcher, I work with great love on my own city. In addition, I like to work for social and cultural organisations that also have Rotterdam at heart.”

Hilde: “I am also an urban planner and trained at TU Delft. My motivation is to get things moving and to activate and inspire people. With the search for the soul and uniqueness of cities, regions and parts of the country in mind, I work on the quality of the future design of the Netherlands”.

Can you tell us something about BVR Spatial Development Advisors?

"BVR is a visionary and strategic agency for spatial issues and has a healthy dose of realism. With a fresh perspective, we examine the assignment and see where the energy lies in society or with the client. By means of the design and working in images, we create a new perspective for the future. In close cooperation with the client, we search for a real new discovery, a new way of looking at and tackling things. We believe that multiple solutions are possible for every assignment."

Where are you located and how do you like this location?

"Our office is located at Westewagenstraat 60 on the top floor. When looking for a new building, we immediately fell in love with the beautiful view of the ever-changing city. Everyone who enters our building is amazed by our view of both the Laurenskerk and the Markthal and the 'cloud' by Koolhaas. You can see the layering of Rotterdam at a glance, where new and old come together. The location is very accessible by public transport and bicycle. And it's great that it is a building designed by architect H. Maaskant, one of the most famous Rotterdam architects."
